Remembering L'thyr Empty
PostSubject: Remembering L'thyr    Remembering L'thyr EmptySun Oct 23, 2016 6:15 pm

Gwin paused a little anxiously outside of Kyabree's weyr. She had never disliked any of her classmates, choosing instead to ignore the uncomfortable realities of others' attitudes until suddenly it was too late and half their class was gone.

And then horror, and then they were all back together again, but not really, and then -

And now. And now, L'thyr was gone, truly gone, and color seemed the absolute dumbest of reasons to hold apart. So (with a bit of a broad from Beniath), she took a deep breath and knocked. "Kyabree? Are you feeling all right?" It would be a gracious reason to send her away, if Gwin weren't actually welcome.

After being treated in the infirmary she had been sent to recover in her own weyr. Not that Kyabree was all that concerned with her own recuperation. Her thoughts seemed consistently to go back to the loss of her friend. L'thyr. Even thinking his name brought on tears.

She heard Gwin at her door and hobbled over to it, opening and drawing the greenrider in. Before Gwin would be able to protest or resist, Kyabree had enveloped her in her arms. "I'll be fine." Which seemed to suggest more that she was alive and others were not.

"Thank you for coming." She said, releasing her clutchmate, and giving her some space. Kya, who probably should be sitting, was having a hard time staying in bed although Nwynth slept soundly.

"R'fariel and V'tayn are going to be here soon." Realizing this might make the greenrider uncomfortable. "Please stay. We were hoping everyone would join us you know, from our class..."

Gwin managed a somewhat tremulous smile, and shook herself internally. "Shouldn't you sit? Can I help with anything?" She just...the greenrider really, really wanted to do something of use. Maybe it would help, with all these whirling emotions - loss, regret, shame, fear, and who knew what else.

Gwin very much preferred happy, easy, smooth...and that was not to be found, of late, so she struggled to find something, anything to hold on to.

R'fariel had taken the time to clean up, though it had been a quick job.  He'd needed to remove Vorganth's straps and get him settled on their ledge, then wash the dirt of 'Fall and the flight away.  He wasn't worried about his appearance by any means, but he needed to be settled for the rest of the day, so he wouldn't feel the need to leave the company of his friends and lovers to do something so simple as bathing.

If nothing else, he wanted to curl up with Kyabree and V'tayn, remind himself that all of them were relatively all right, that they'd made it through.  And try not to think that things could have gone so differently…

Shaking off the thought, he hastened his steps towards Kya's weyr and hoped he wasn't too far behind everyone else.

"Kya?" he called once he reached the scarletrider's weyr, knocking first since he was letting Vorganth sleep instead of announcing his presence.  Of course, other times he might just waltz right in without doing such a thing, but not today.  This was a gathering for their entire class, not just himself and his lovers.  So it was only polite.
