Player Name: Weyrwolf
Character Number: 13?
***
Character Name and Pronunciation: Leja (Lay-zha)
Character Rank: candidate
Character Age/Date of birth: 16
Family: Lezhal, rider of brown Frissoth (died in Threadfall when Leja was 10); Father: Ardel, journeyman harper; six half-siblings
Current location: White Lightning
Physical description: Leja is most often adorable, and occasionally lovely. Shoulder-length medium brown hair with a hint of red, a fair amount of frizz-wave, and usually tied back, grayish-brown eyes (from a normal distance they seem more muddy hazel, but up close they are a remarkable shade of gray-flecked brown or brown-flecked gray or some combination), most often wide and focused intently on whatever they're regarding; prominent front teeth that give her a notable smile and make her seem even younger than she is.
Leja wears whatever, having no sense of style or matching or anything, despite her father's best attempts to teach her, and her pants/shirt/skirt/dress are usually dusty or scuffed, or showing hastily mended tears. The only real trend to her clothing choices is slightly too short (she hit a growth spurt recently, and though will be average height for a woman, she was very tiny for her age for quite some time) and very comfortable.

Personality: She is relentlessly, unquenchably curious about EVERYthing, and a rapacious reader/studier/questioner. Her hand is first in the air during lessons, and she's the one following after a visiting expert firing question after question (and usually listening to the answer). She is, unrepentantly, a know it all, but from a place of enthusiasm rather than smugness. She wants to know everything, and wants you to know it too. When there are unanswered questions, they haunt her - sleepless nights, wandering the weyr to investigate, you name it.
Leja loves people, though she doesn't always get that they might not love all the things she loves, so she can't understand the signals when they start to back away or get glazed-eye syndrome. Honestly she doesn't even notice. She doesn't really have a lower gear - she charges full speed ahead, then crashes
Theme song: Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, 'Who put the bomp' (questions! high energy!)
History: Leja's brownriding mother had at least 7 living children with various, 'high quality' fathers who were talented in various ways (harper, healer, greenrider, etc.), figuring it her duty as a strong rider of an anchor dragon. She didn't love being grounded, and so would fly to the very last moment, and then took little interest in her offspring until they were interesting - between five and seven, usually - trusting in the well-chosen fostermother/fathers to instill the basics.
Leja loved and was scared of her mother in equal measure, preferring the fun lighted-heartedness of her father when he visited. Ardel asked to take his spirited, smart little daughter with him on rotations a few times, but Lezhal refused, preferring her children in her reach so she could be sure their various studies with Weyr crafters and Lower Cavern leaders progressed appropriately. And so Leja was occupied and her busy mind always captured by something, but she shut down all the same after her mother died in Fall.
Ardel collected her, and kept her either at the Southern Harper Hall or traveling out with him for the last six turns. The distraction and learning opportunities open to her captured her attention and brought her back to herself fairly quickly, but she never formally apprenticed, knowing the pull of dragons would eventually call her home.
But the world changed in those six turns. New dragon colors appeared, Eastern grew divided. Riders were exiled, and then other riders started to die. She heard so much about it from the Harper Hall, theories and fears and rumors and news, and finally, when the last of the Eastern riders went to the exile canyon, she felt like she had to be there - both to know the truth, and because, of course, she'd never truly forgotten the lure of dragons. Maybe her siblings were there, maybe old friends, and mostly the chance for Impression. Time to build a home again.
