Wandering Wher Thoughts (open)

Rhaenthwor was not as patient as his father. The news of the Wher eggs had him curious. Would they soon be allowed to see the hardening eggs before hand? He wanted to see them, he wanted to know what they might be like. Not that it would change his mind. He was going to try to bond with one of them. Nothing they might project would change that. He was also wondering who else might be trying. With Divisk guarding the eggs, the large man knew better than to try to sneak a peek. No matter how much he might want to.

He stood, arms crossed, looking down stream. He wondered what it would be like, not for the first, nor likely the last time, to be bonded to a Wher. In what ways would his life change? He didn't ever fear change. Generally he embraced it because every major change in his own life had brought him a better fate. He was certain that bonding to a Wher would only add another layer to his life.

Bending down he picked up a flat stone and skipped it down the river. Would he be able to stand firm and bond to a hatchling Wher? Or would it choose freedom? What would he choose if given the opportunity? Rhaenthwor found himself wondering. He supposed it would depend on the person available to bond with. With that in mind, he knew he would be successful. He need only be brave and strong...traits he considered himself to have.

It was a little early in the evening, but Alden was discovering that one of the benefits of canyon life was the deep shade cast by the canyon cliffs. A few hours after noon, the west canyon wall was dim enough that Aldisk could emerge from the caverns and explore along the riverbank. She dearly loved this activity, which meant that Alden found himself spending most evenings ambling among the rocks, sipping from his flask and watching Aldisk in her savage play.

Today, however, there was someone already there.

"Stay with me," Alden muttered to the green. Aldisk gave him a derisive snort that said that she knew very well how to behave herself around strangers, and of course she wouldn't disembowel him. Not until he gave reason to do so, that was.

Alden took another sip of his flask and approached the young man. "Oy there," he said. "What're ye doin out here just now? Aldisk was wanting to play in the river a bit, an I'm not sure you'd want to be here when she does. Tends to play rough, if you know what I mean."
