Physical description: Leocera doesn't have Leja's cuteness, nor Lezande's curves. She's more athletic, more muscular, and takes pride in her ability to keep up with the boys in a lot of physical pursuits. Particularly her foster brother, who she's competed with her entire life. There are some things she's less suited for, of course, especially with slightly-below-average height, but she makes up for that with determination and strength of will.
The way she wears her reddish hair seems to change with the season sometimes-- or perhaps simply with whatever her current favorite physical pursuit is. She's had everything from short to midway down her back, and currently wears it down a bit below her shoulders-- she can still tie it back and out of the way, but it still gives her some more feminine appeal. Her thickly-lashed, large brown eyes are almost always sparkling with laughter, and more often than not some spark of trouble that goes with the smirk constantly playing about her lips.
Play By: Kate Mara
Photo Reference: Personality: Leo is a total tomboy. She grew up running mostly with the boys in the creche and unapologetically behaves in mostly unladylike ways. She cares very little for what others think of her and has her own healthy ego. She'll fight, swear, tease, and pull pranks, particularly on Hanarisan (Hana), her foster brother. She'll chase whoever she finds desirable, be it a woman or man, and won't let rank or other social stigmas stand in her way. Because, really, what does she have to lose?
She does have a total soft spot for those she's loyal to, though-- something possibly unexpected, especially when it comes to Hanarisan. He's her brother-- no one else is allowed to pick on him but for her. Her half sisters will fall into the same protective shell once she gets to know them well (if she hasn't yet?)
Leo is daring and a risk-taker. She loves to rock climb, would probably attempt to sneak into the stills and steal some sort of liquor, and will accept just about any challenge thrown at her-- including sneaking into Divisk's lair (which would probably be a stupid move, eh?) The one thing she truly hates is complete darkness, though. It's something she struggles to hide from everyone, though Hanarisan knows, and has since they were little. She'll put on a brave front for as long as possible if she's stuck someplace in the dark, but the longer it goes on, the more her shell will crack.
Theme song: History:Both of Leocera's parents were dragonriders, her mother on a brown, her father on a green. Solid wingriders as each of them were, O'ceran was nearly as ambitious as Lezhal, and neither of them had a lot of time for their daughter. They found a suitable foster mother in Hanavrey, and Leo was raised alongside her own son of the same age.
Hanarisan and Leocera were nearly inseparable for for their formative years. They played, fought, teased, and pranked each other often, but were also each others staunchest defenders. What one did, the other had to do better, and on it went. They were decent students for the harpers when they focused, but often messed around. When the harpers figured out they were as competitive as they were, some capitalized on their natures and made learning into a bit of a game. It worked until the two figured it out, but it helped at a crucial point in their education.
Leo was most certainly not going to be left behind when given the chance to Stand as a Candidate. Both of her parents were riders-- or had been, as her mother had been taken by Threadfall the Turn before, and her father spent what time he could with her-- and she was going to Impress just as proudly as they had. It didn't matter how long it took-- she knew she was meant to ride a fighter, one who would fly and flame with the best of them. Better than anything Hanarisan would Impress, too, because, really, hers would be better.
For Leo, color never really mattered-- her mother had Impressed a rare (for women) brown, so she knew she had the chance to possibly follow in her footsteps. But then the mutants came along, and the number of colors she could possibly end up spread wide in front of her. Mutant or not mattered little-- they were still dragons, still fighters, still Pern's defense against Threadfall, and one of them would be hers.
When the mutants were exiled, she was torn-- she had no real loyalties to any of those riders, but she also saw more chances for Hatchings slipping away. But there was soon to be a clutch on the Sands, and she hated to miss that chance as well. So she waited. And didn't Impress.
And then hopped a ride with her foster brother and half-sisters when the remaining dragonriders all moved to the canyon weyr, because there was no way she was staying at Eastern with no dragons.
